2024 Ford Explorer

You can purchase the 2023 Ford Explorer in eight trims: Base, XLT, ST-Line, Timberland, ST, King Ranch, and Platinum. Standard features for the XLT include 18-inch wheels, LED headlights, and a power liftgate. The XLT adds heated outside mirrors and roof rails. On the ST-Line, you get 20-inch wheels, power-folding exterior mirrors, and rain-sensing windshield wipers. The off-road-ready Timberline features underbody skid plates, front tow hooks, and 18-inch wheels with all-terrain tires. You get a hands-free power liftgate and chrome exterior trim on the Limited.

Moving up to the ST adds quad exhaust outlets, while the King Ranch has exterior approach lighting to greet you. The Platinum upgrades you with 21-inch wheels and a satin aluminum exterior trim.

Ford offers three engine options for the 2023 Explorer. The base engine is a 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that delivers 300 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. On the ST and King Ranch, you'll find a 3.0-liter turbocharged V-6 that produces 400 horsepower and 425 pound-feet of torque. This V-6 is also an available engine for the Platinum, which features a 3.3-liter V-6 hybrid engine for 318 horsepower as its standard power plant. A 10-speed automatic transmission gives you a seamless ride every time in the latest Explorer.

Ford adds performance-enhancing features to the 2023 Explorer to improve the driving experience. Rear-wheel drive is standard across all trims except the Timberline, which features a four-wheel-drive system as standard.
