There’s nothing quite like going on an exciting family adventure in a Ford EcoSport to explore and experience new places and things. Below are some terrific spots for fun family excursions packed with kid-friendly activities just a short drive from Lynbrook, NY.

1. Learn, Explore, and Discover While Having Fun

The Long Island Children’s Museum is an excellent spot for kids and their parents to learn and have tons of fun! There are so many exhibits to teach children something new, and they can take as much time as they need to explore and learn. The giant bubble exhibit, where kids can use wands to create playful bubbles, is one of the most popular hands-on activities.

If your kiddos enjoy music, they’ll love the percussion exhibit. If they’re an active bunch, Climb-It will allow them to burn off energy while learning to be independent. Animal lovers can learn about prey and predators at the live animal Feasts for Beasts exhibit, and the little ones have a specially-designed TotSpot area where they can explore a miniature town.

Address and Hours

The Long Island Children’s Museum is at 11 Davis Ave in Garden City, roughly six miles from Lynbrook, and is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

2. Experience Farm Life in the City

Travel back in time to experience farm life as it was way back in 1697 at the Queens County Farm Museum, the oldest working farm in the state and New York City’s largest remaining farmland. At the 47-acre Queens Farm, with its historic farm buildings, vineyards, and orchards, it’s easy to imagine you are miles out of the city.

Witness farm life up close and introduce your kids to daily farm activities such as collecting eggs, milking cows, and harvesting crops. Before heading home, take a hayride through the beautiful pastures and drop by the farm store for fresh produce.

Address and Hours

Queens County Farm Museum is at 73-50 Little Neck Parkway in Floral Park, 9.8 miles away, and is open every day between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.

3. Go on a Wildlife Adventure

Take the kids on a wildlife safari right here at the Queens Zoo, and come face to face with all sorts of creatures, from enormous bison to the tiniest toads. See amazing critters from all over the Americas, including South American bears, scaly alligators, fluffy Canadian Lynxes, colorful parrots, and the smallest deer species.

The kids can even get acquainted with domestic animals such as cows, sheep, goats, and alpacas and watch the cute and clumsy sea lions frolic in their pool.

Address and Hours

Queens Zoo Wildlife Center at 53-51 111th Street in Corona is about 15 miles from Lynbrook and is open daily in summer from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and closes a half hour earlier in winter.
Whether you spend a whole day or just a few hours having fun together as a family, these activities will surely create memories that will last a lifetime. While you’re out with the family, stop at Crown Ford Inc and ask the kids to help you choose the best Ford for fun outings.
